Multi Theft Auto is a modification for the computer game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which enables multiplayer gameplay, allowing one to play with friends or people from around the world. Beginning in 2003 with an experimental modification for Grand Theft Auto: III, it has since grown to include support for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2003) and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2005) and has several thousand players online at any given time. Support for GTA:III and GTA:VC has been discontinued by the original development team, who instead decided to focus their efforts on the latest incarnation of the game at the time, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in late 2005.
